Meet Miss Liberty!
The Inspiration, Muse, and Mastermind Behind Just Liberty

Liberty is more than just a dog—she is the heart and soul behind Just Liberty. Her journey is one of resilience, love, and unwavering companionship, shaping not only Josh’s life but also the very mission of his nonprofit.
A Southern Girl’s Journey to Freedom
Liberty was rescued from a kill shelter in South Carolina and transported north to New Jersey, where she spent time in a kennel awaiting her forever home.
During this time, Josh, living with his father and unable to work due to disability, received a Christmas gift that would change his life—a sum of money meant for adopting a companion. That decision led him straight to Liberty. From the moment they met, their bond was instant and unbreakable.

A Name That Was Meant to Be
When Josh adopted her, Liberty already had her name—and she responded to it as if it were destiny. Over the years, Liberty became more than just a pet; she became a symbol of freedom, love, and responsibility, teaching Josh invaluable life lessons.
Through caring for Liberty, Josh found personal growth, maturity, and a newfound sense of purpose. The love he had for Liberty extended into a broader vision—a commitment to justice and empowerment.
The Birth of Just Liberty
When Josh finally decided to give back and start his nonprofit, he wanted to channel his frustrations with the legal system, the flaws in local politics, and his expertise in IT and app development into something meaningful. It was only fitting that this mission be named Just Liberty—a tribute to the friend who taught him the true meaning of commitment, justice, and freedom.
As Just Liberty grew, so did its platforms—Just Legal, Just Politics, Just Media—each representing transparency, empowerment, and the fight for justice, all inspired by Liberty herself.

Miss Liberty is more than just a beloved companion—she’s a warrior. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with mast cell tumors, a devastating form of cancer that threatened her life. The road to recovery was anything but easy. She endured surgery that she barely survived, and the uncertainty of her future weighed heavily on me. But true to her name, Liberty fought with unwavering strength, emerging from the ordeal not just alive, but thriving. Today, she carries the scars of her battle as a testament to her resilience, a reminder that even in the face of the worst odds, hope and determination can prevail.

Yet, for all that I’ve done to rescue her, I can’t shake the feeling that she’s the one who truly saved me. In the darkest times, when I had nothing—no stability, no clear future, no faith in people—Liberty was there, constant and unwavering. She gave me purpose, taught me patience, and reminded me what unconditional love really means. She is not just my dog; she is my anchor, my teacher, and my reason to keep going. If Just Liberty exists as a mission, a movement, and a philosophy, it is because of her. She gave me something to believe in, and for that, I will always feel indebted to her.
Liberty Today
At 10 years old, Liberty now sports a few gray whiskers, moves a little slower, but remains just as strong, beautiful, and wise as the day they met. She is a living testament to resilience, love, and unwavering loyalty.

Liberty is not just Josh’s best friend—she is the reason he fights for justice, the reason he understands the importance of freedom, and the reason he strives to help those who never had a voice.
For this and forever, Liberty, my dog, my friend, my inspiration—We all love you, I love you.
The day i rescued Liberty
